Wedding Party

Thank you to everyone who organised the most wonderful wedding party for me and my husband to be. We had the most wonderful time and could not believe the effort that everyone went to!

Weddings

This week we have been learning all about weddings. Lots of Teachers and TAs have brought in their wedding dresses and photos to share with us. They were all very beautiful!

At the start of the week there was a competition for who could design the best wedding cake. Rhys was the winner with his fantastic design. Yesterday we then made a wedding cake based on Rhy's design. We helped bake the cake and even decorate it! 

Today we have had a pretend class wedding. Millie was the Bride, Frazer was the Groom, Rhys was the Father of the Bride and Amaya, Tilly, Isla and Ellymai were the bridesmaids. Everyone else were guests at the wedding and enjoyed watching the ceremony. It was such a beautiful wedding! Afterwards we had a party and then enjoyed the yummy cake that we had made. Learning about Fairy Tales

Whilst learning about Fairy Tales we have done lots of fun things!

We have learnt about 3D shapes in maths and went on a really fun shape hunt!

We have enjoyed dressing up and acting out different fairy tales including: Little Red Riding Hood, prince and princesses, Jack and the Beanstalk and many more!

We have seen some wonderful art work created for the home learning challenge!

In PE we have acted out the story of Goldilocks! We all thought of different actions and created a story using the actions.

In English we have learnt to describe characters and sequence events in stories. We have had lots of fun during this enchanting topic!

Bug hotel!

As part of ECO and learning about the surrounding environment and how to care for it we have built a bug hotel. We looked at bug hotels to get some ideas and watched a video about different bugs. We then designed the hotel. In small groups we went to forest school to build the hotel using: sticks, twigs, leaves, bricks, carpet, pots and we used pallets for the structure. Look at our wonderful creation!

Fairy Tales Topic Learning

We have been learning about different fairy tales this half term. Week one we learnt about Jack and the Beanstalk. We have planted our very own magic beans! We wonder whether we can climb to the sky and meet the Giant?

We have also built houses for the Three Little Pigs. We wanted our houses to be like the brick house, we didn't want it to blow down! Some of the houses stayed standing, but some fell down!

World Book Day

Today we have been celebrating World Book Day. Everyone has come into school dressed as a character from a book. The children looked great! There were lots of different characters, have a look at some of ours.

In Reception Class we have been learning about fairy tales! This week we have looked at the Three Little Pigs. We have created wanted posters to help capture the Big Bad Wolf! We drew the Wolf and wrote descriptive words and sentences so that everyone knows what to look for.

We have also done some great colouring of the characters; we can identify if they are good or bad and we can use words to describe them.
