Ducklings

Last week we had some special eggs that were delivered to our class room. Mrs Williams told us that they had to stay in the incubator to stay warm. We watched them closely and then last Wednesday one of the eggs started to hatch! After a long and what seemed very tiring few hours, our first little duckling hatched. She was really tired and quite wet so she had to stay in the incubator for a few more hours to dry off and rest. When she was ready Mrs Williams moved her to the cage and we later named her 'Penny'. Over the next few days 3 more ducklings hatched. We named the other ducklings, Herbie, Daisy and Dexter. We then helped Mrs Williams and Mrs Gibbons look after them by feeding them and giving them water. Our favourite part of having the ducklings has been giving them a bath and watching them swim.

We're sad that they have now gone, but we know they are happy and being looked after well in their new home.

Sandfield Farm

We have had a lovely day at Sandfield Farm! When we arrived we had our milk and snacks before heading off to the barn. In the barn we were busy drawing pictures and making dragonflies. We then walked over to the pond area and had a go at pond dipping. We found lots of dragonfly nymphs and other minibeasts! After we went back to the class for lunch. We then spent the afternoon exploring the play woods. We had so much fun!

Cotswold Farm Park

We have spent the day at Cotswold Farm Park and it has been so much fun! When we first arrived we had our milk and snacks and  then headed over to the barn to watch Gertrude the goat be milked. We then went to the touch barn to learn about different types of eggs and birds. We even got to hold the chicks and ducklings! They were so cute! After that we went on a trailer ride around the park to find out about the different animals on the farm. We even saw Adam Henson filming for Countryfile! After we had lunch and then we had some free time in our groups to explore the farm. We fed the animals, went in the maze, played in the park, did some dinosaur digging and had fun on the zip line!

We all had a wonderful time even though we did get a little soggy!!!

Pet Visit

Today we had a special visitor... it was Mrs William's dog Lola Bear. We asked lots of questions to find out how to take care of a dog and Mrs Williams showed us some of Lola's things.
Mrs Williams said that Lola Bear really enjoyed meeting us!

Animals

This half term our new topic is 'Animals' and we have already been busy converting the role-play area into a Pet Shop. Our learning in literacy this week has been focused around the story 'The Great Pet Sale'. We have been making 'For Sale' posters for our Pet Shop. Take a look at the photos below.

Weddings

This week we have been learning all about weddings. Lots of Teachers and TAs have brought in their wedding dresses and photos to share with us. They were all very beautiful!

At the start of the week there was a competition for who could design the best wedding cake. Rhys was the winner with his fantastic design. Yesterday we then made a wedding cake based on Rhy's design. We helped bake the cake and even decorate it!

Today we have had a pretend class wedding. Millie was the Bride, Frazer was the Groom, Rhys was the Father of the Bride and Amaya, Tilly, Isla and Ellymai were the bridesmaids. Everyone else were guests at the wedding and enjoyed watching the ceremony. It was such a beautiful wedding! Afterwards we had a party and then enjoyed the yummy cake that we had made. Please take a look at the photos below!
