Fairy Tales Topic Learning

We have been learning about different fairy tales this half term. Week one we learnt about Jack and the Beanstalk. We have planted our very own magic beans! We wonder whether we can climb to the sky and meet the Giant?

We have also built houses for the Three Little Pigs. We wanted our houses to be like the brick house, we didn't want it to blow down! Some of the houses stayed standing, but some fell down!

World Book Day

Today we have been celebrating World Book Day. Everyone has come into school dressed as a character from a book. The children looked great! There were lots of different characters, have a look at some of ours.

In Reception Class we have been learning about fairy tales! This week we have looked at the Three Little Pigs. We have created wanted posters to help capture the Big Bad Wolf! We drew the Wolf and wrote descriptive words and sentences so that everyone knows what to look for.

We have also done some great colouring of the characters; we can identify if they are good or bad and we can use words to describe them.

Fairy Tales

We have started our new topic "Fairy Tales". We have converted our role-play area into a magical castle. Please take a look at the photos below.

Pirate Dance

This half term our topic has been 'Pirates and Mermaids' and in PE we have created a pirate dance. We have learnt how to warm up and cool down. The children created the moves and we put them together to create our dance. Take a look at our amazing pirate dance! Oooo Arrgghh! 

Treasure maps

This week we have been designing our own treasure maps. We have drawn our own treasure maps on the computers using the ICT programme 2Paint. We have also drawn pictures on treasure maps and labelled the different features of our maps.

Pancake race

To celebrate Pancake Day we have had a pancake race. We tried really hard to flip our pancakes but it was a little tricky! Take a look at the photos below. We had flipping fun!

Pirates and Mermaids

This half term our new topic is "Pirates and Mermaids". We have been busy converting the role-play area into a pirate ship and we have made some super pirate portraits. We think they look amazing!
