Mrs Humphrey's retirement BBQ

This afternoon we have all enjoyed a yummy BBQ that the TAs kindly prepared for us in honour of our special guest Mrs Humphreys. There was also singing, gymnastics and dancing performed by some of the children and fun games for us to play after the food. A special thanks to Mrs Barclay for baking some delicious cupcakes!

Daisy

Today we had some special visitors in Reception class, Mrs B brought in her new labradoodle puppy Daisy. Mrs B told us how she takes care of her and showed us some the things she uses to look after her. Daisy is absolutely gorgeous, so we thought that we would share some photos of her!

Butterflies

When we arrived at school on Monday morning we found that our butterflies had finally emerged from their cocoons. They are very beautiful and we have named them Boris, Barry, Bonnie, Bertie and Buzz. Have a look at the photos below!

Growing and Minibeasts

Our new topic this half term is "Growing and Minibeasts". For the first few weeks we have learnt about how plants grow and about the different parts of a plant. We have even planted some seeds in our outside area and have planted our own bean plants. In the last few weeks we have been learning about minibeasts. We have also converted the role-play area into The Ugly Bug Cafe, where you can find such delights as 'beetle burger' or 'snail soup' on the menu. Yum, Yum!

Sandfield Farm Wednesday 20th May

This week we have been on our second visit to Sandfield Farm. We were very lucky again with the weather and we had a fantastic time! 

We spent the morning building homes for dinosaurs, making dinosaur footprints out of clay and pond dipping. After lunch we spent the afternoon exploring the play woods and some of us ended up very muddy! 

Miss Stephenson came back to spend the day with us at the farm and she had some exciting news... She will be teaching her own class in September. We wish her the very best and we hope that she will visit us again soon!

Wheels Day and Sponsored Bounce

Today we have had lots of fun raising money for Nepal through doing a sponsored bounce. We have also had a Wheels Day for our Eco treat.
