All Things Wild

Today we have been on a school trip to All Things Wild to learn more about dinosaurs. We started off in the classroom with Sarah. We found out lots of facts about dinosaurs and fossils and we even played Dino bingo! Next we went to the reptile room and we were introduced to Mario the cockroach, a chameleon, a bearded dragon and a snake. Some of us were brave enough to give them a stroke, but some of us even held them! Next we went to the Dino Barn and stepped back in time! We saw lots of dinosaurs, but luckily no one was eaten! We then had lunch and then spent the rest of the day exploring. We saw lots of animals including meerkats and a baby red fox (who was really cute!) We even had a chance to dig for dinosaur bones!

We've had an absolutely fantastic day! Please have a look at the photos below.

Dinosaurs!

Our new topic this half term is 'Dinosaurs' and we have been very busy converting our role-play area into Sedgeberrow Dinosaur Museum. This week our literacy activities have been focused around the story 'Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs'. We have been painting the dinosaurs from the story and describing what they look like. In maths we have been adding groups of dinosaurs to find out how many altogether and writing number sentences.

Sandfield Farm

Last Wednesday it was our first visit of the year to Sandfield Farm. We met Emma and her two dogs Nelly and Fly (who were very friendly!) We went for a long walk in the morning and found lots of badger holes along the way! We also had a go at den building in the Forest area. After lunch we enjoyed an afternoon exploring in the play woods. We had such a great time and we can't wait to go again!
